'Rough Gecko / Moko Pārae' WOMEN'S doodlewear ORGANIC COTTON T-SHIRT
In collaboration with doodlewear, 'Rough Gecko' is an art print t-shirt by NZ wildlife artist, Betty Busby (Auntie Betty Illustration). These quality wildlife conservation t-shirts feature a watercolour artwork, based on the lovely reference photo by Grant Macredie (permission granted).
Betty loved painting the delicate scale pattern details. This small, endangered gecko inhabits the Kaikoura Ranges of the South Island, where they live in low-growing scrub. Unlike most geckos, Rough Geckos are diurnal (active during the day), living in manuka, kanuka and in the forest.
Rough Gecko (Naultinus rudis), Māori name: moko pārae.
This t-shirt's quality cotton is grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides and is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified, so its manufacture did not damage the environment, it is healthy to wear, and it will not cause any pollution when it is finally disposed, as it is biodegradable.
